About Ahmed
An operator across the full company lifecycle.
Ahmed Mhiri is a Franco-Tunisian entrepreneur, CEO and investor with over a decade of experience building, scaling, transforming and transitioning technology-enabled mobility businesses.
He began his career in cybersecurity before leaving to found TravelCar in 2012, driven by a simple belief: travel and mobility could become smarter, more efficient and more sustainable by unlocking underused assets. What started as an entrepreneurial solution around airport parking and peer-to-peer car rental grew into an international mobility platform operating across more than 60 countries, including the United States.
TravelCar raised more than $25 million, reached over one million users globally and built partnerships across airports, car parks and mobility operators before being acquired by PSA Group, now Stellantis, in 2019.
Following the acquisition, Ahmed continued the journey within Stellantis and Free2move, contributing to the integration, growth and transformation of the group’s mobility activities. He worked across product, technology, operations, M&A, international expansion, connected vehicles, digital services, marketplace models and corporate transformation.
As CEO of Free2move, Ahmed has led the company through a major phase of scale, operational improvement and strategic repositioning. Over this period, Free2move deployed more than 12,000 connected vehicles across Europe and the United States, supported thousands of franchise partners through mobility-as-a-service solutions, processed more than 300 million transactions in over 40 currencies, completed multiple M&A and carve-out operations, and achieved profitability after a major turnaround.
His experience includes not only company creation and international scale-up, but also post-acquisition integration, corporate carve-outs, activity transfers into and out of Free2move, and the preparation of complex businesses for new ownership structures. This gives him a rare perspective on the full company lifecycle: from zero-to-one entrepreneurship to industrial acquisition, corporate transformation, operational turnaround and private equity transition.
He helped lead Free2move through its strategic sale by Stellantis to Mutares, marking a new chapter for the company as an independent platform under international private equity ownership.
Since 2019, Ahmed has also invested through Danocap, his personal holding and investment platform. Through Danocap, he backs startups, funds and long-term opportunities across mobility, SaaS, AI, logistics, marketplaces and technology-enabled operations.
